As heard on WHOW, the Villa Grove Blue Devils defeated the Clinton Maroons by a score of 20-15.

 

The Maroons were led by quarterback Christian Reynolds who had 9 of 14 passing for 60 yards and an interception. Ty Berter had 1 of 3 passing for 73 yards and a touchdown that went to Jacob Hospelhorn. Bryson Carson had 3 carries for 27 yards and 5 catches for 41 yards.

 

Maroons led 15-14 with a minute left in the game before Villa Grove connected on a 51 yard pass and then got a 9 yard touchdown run from Sophomore Chase Burwell to win the game.

 

For the game, Burwell had 15 carries for 19 yards and 2 touchdowns.

 

The Blue Devils were also lead by Senior Codie Baker with 6 carries for 44 yards and a touchdown and he was 21 of 40 passing for 225 yards.

 

The Clinton Maroons Player of the Game, brought to you by Country Financial's Brad James, was Dameon Baker who was one of the leads on Maroons defense with 2 quaterback sacks.
