Steven Migut racked up 265 yards of total offense and accounted for three touchdowns as the Unity Rockets rolled Monticello 30-13 Friday night in Illini Prairie football action from Tolono.

 

Unity held the Sages scoreless in the second half as Monticello quarterback Braden Snyder threw two interceptions on 18-for-32 efficiency and 221 yards. It was his first game this season without a touchdown pass.

 

Asher Bradd hauled in nine receptions for 123 yards while Devin Graham had four catches for 84 yards.

 

Monticello defensive end Riley Austin picked off a Migut screen pass, setting up a short touchdown run by Braden Snyder, giving the Sages an early 7-6 advantage.

 

Snyder also scored on short touchdown run before the half to make the score 14-13 but it was all Unity the rest of the way.

 

Unity tailback Keaton Eckstein carried the football 31 times for 79 yards with a touchdown.

 

The Rockets improve to 6-0 overall and move into sole possession of first place in the Illini Prairie Conference.

 

Monticello drops to 5-1 overall.
