Clinton Maroons Defeat Meridian Hawks

Despite three turnovers, the Clinton Maroons defeated the Meridian Hawks 6-3 on Friday night. The Maroons were led by Bryson Carson with 23 carries for 117 yards. Ty Berter carried the ball 13 times for 37 yards and a touchdown. Berter was 2 of 8 passing for 10 yards and an interception. Brandon Atten was named the Country Financial representative Brad James Maroons Player of the Game. Atten was the leading tackler for the defense and recovered a fumble.

 

For Meridian, they were led by Gage Hollgarth who had 20 carries for 69 yards. Cameron Getz had 10 carries for 34 yards and was 8 of 17 throwing for 80 yards.

 

With the win, the Maroons finish the season 3-6 and 2-5 in the Central Illinois Conference. Meridian finishes 1-8 overall and 1-6 in conference play.
