As the GCMS Falcons and Maroa-Forsyth Trojans get set to battle it out for a 2A state title, each side recognizes they are in for a challenge.
The Trojans run a balanced offense that Head Coach Josh Jostes says is about taking what the defense gives them.
Coach Mike Allen at GCMS says the Maroa-Forsyth tradition speaks for itself but recognizes the Trojans do a lot of things well that make them a tough matchup.
The Falcons will want to control the ball and the clock with their power run game and Coach Jostes says his team has to make them throw the ball.
Playing on turf could come in to play. Coach Allen says it might take some getting used to for their kids but Coach Jostes doesn't see it being a factor, though he notes, GCMS is probably going to like it.
Kickoff from Husky Stadium at Northern Illinois University of 1 pm this afternoon.
