Monticello Routs P-B-L

Four players scored in double figures for Monticello as the Sages used a balanced attack to rout Paxton-Buckley-Loda 66-39 Tuesday night in non-conference boys basketball action from Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School.

 

Johnny Dawson scored eight of his 14 points in the first quarter, and the other six in the third quarter. Luke Stokowski scored nine of his 14 points in the first quarter, and the other five in the third quarter. Stokowski, a less than 50-percent free throw shooter, also went 4-for-4 from the free throw line.

 

Calvin Fisher scored seven of his 12 points in the third quarter. Alek Bundy scored ten points off the bench for Monticello.

 

Dawson grabbed a game high four rebounds.

 

The Sages shot 72-percent for the game (29-for-40) and scored 50 points in the paint. Monticello turned 22 Panthers turnovers into 37 points.

 

Bundy’s ten points off the bench along Cam Dyson and Devin Graham’s six points off the bench propelled the Sages to a 22-8 bench scoring advantage.

 

The Panthers drop to 4-2 overall and will play next at the Holiday Hoopla in Monticello.

 

The Sages are 5-0 and are also in action next at the Holiday Hoopla, next Thursday through Saturday.
