Big Third Quarter Propels Monticello Girls Past Ridgeview

Zanna Myers and Tatum McCall took over the third quarter and propelled the Monticello Lady Sages past Ridgeview 45-29 Friday from girls Holiday Hoopla action at Monticello High School.

 

McCall and Myers each had eight points in the third quarter as the Lady Sages outscored the Lady Mustangs 20-3 to open up a 39-19 advantage after having just a 19-16 halftime lead.

 

McCall led the way for Monticello with 15 points, finishing 6-for-6 from the free throw line. Myers had a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds, going 6-for-7 from the line.

 

The Lady Sages as a team went 15-for-17 at the charity stripe.

 

After struggling from beyond the arc in the first half and struggling to just four points and one field goal in the second quarter, the Monticello offense came alive after Emily Wilson knocked down a three to give Monticello a 25-16 advantage.

 

Wilson finished with nine points.

 

The Lady Sages improve to 11-0 on the season and will play for the Hoopla title tomorrow night at 6pm.
