Monticello Ten-Runs Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond Tuesday

The Monticello Sages scored five runs in the bottom of the fifith-inning to walk-off Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond in 11-1 in non-conference boys baseball action Tuesday afternoon at Monticello High School. 
 
On an afternoon when most games across central Illinois were canceled because of the cold weather, the Sages led 6-1 headed to the bottom of the fifth inning and sent nine hitters to the plate, and Cam Wittig's RBI double ended the game for Monticello as they won by ten-run rule 11-1.
 
Alek Bundy and Alex Marquartd each scored two runs.
 
Luke Stokowski finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a pair of stolen bases. Mitch Carr finished 2-for-2 with two walks, a run and drove in a run as well.
 
Jeff Willeaver capped a three-run fourth inning with a two-run double and Asher Bradd had a pair of stolen bases for Monticello.
 
Marquardt threw three shutout innings to pick up the win for the Sages. He allowed a hit, a walk and struck out four. 
 
The Knights, who's lineup featured six freshman or sophomores, were led by Waylan Schlabach, who was 3-for-3 and Dario Ayala drove in the lone run for ALAH. 
 
The Sages are 6-0 on the season and ALAH drops to 0-2.
