The Clinton Maroons defeated the Shelbyville Rams by a score of 8-3 on Wednesday evening.
 
The Maroons were led by Country Financial Player of the Game, Braden Cross, who went 2 for 2 with 3 doubles and 3 runs scored. Mac Hickman got the win, pitching 5 plus innings. He gave up 3 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks while striking out 7. Jake Wade, also for the Maroons, went 1 for 2 with an RBI.
 
Quinn Martz took the loss for Shelbyville. He pitched 2 1/3 innings, gave up 4 runs on 5 hits, walked 1, hit 2 batters, and struck out 4.
 
With the win, the Maroons improve to 9-9 overall and 9-4 in CIC action.
 
Additionally, the Maroons regional assignment was announced Wednesday afternoon. Their 3A regional game will be played on May 21 at Pontiac.
