Clinton Girls Track Takes Home CIC Title; Two School Records Set

The Clinton High School Lady Maroons track and field team won the Central Illinois Conference championship for the second straight season last week Central A&M. 
 
The Lady Maroons racked up 192 points and Decatur St. Teresa came in second with a team score of 157.
 
At the CIC meet, Madi Filkin and Payne Turney set school records at the meet. Turney also won four events at the meet. Athletes are only allowed to compete in four events at conference meets.
 
RyTy DuPont-Barlow set a personal best in the trimple-jump and a new personal best in the long jump.
 
Other Lady Maroons to set personal bests at the CIC meet:
 
Tori Burke (200 m) - good for 5th at conference
Riley Pruser (long jump/triple jump) - both good for 2nd at conference
Emma Wertz (1600 m) - 6th at conference
Aryn Scott (3200 m) - 5th at conference
Madi Filkin (300 m hurdles) - 5th at conference
Jackie Green (4x200 m relay/4x400 m relay)
RyTy Dupont-Barlow (4x200 m relay)
Natalie Rhodes (4x400 m realy)
Hadley Wilson (4x800 m releay)
Alyssa Saulsberry (discuss) - 7th at conference
 
The Lady Maroons are at sectionals tonight in Monticello. Athletes need to place first or second in their events or meet the qualifying standards to advance to state.
