#1Monticello vs. #13Greenville

Monticello continues its journey in the IHSA 3A football playoffs as they will head south to take on Greenville.

 

The Sages will face the unfamiliar foe and away which hasn't affected the Sages this season. Monticello won all four of their away games one of those being against one of their tougher conference rivals Pontiac who went 7-1 of the regular season. Monticello went on to put up a whopping 42 points against Pontiac. 

 

The Comets who are playing well at the right time made upsetting winning games against Farmington 28-14 on the road in the first round of playoffs and then last Saturday 26-14 win over Pleasant Plains. The Comets have kept their dreams alive making it to the quarterfinals, but the difference in scoring is almost 175 points. Overall games Comets have scored 353 points allowing 248 compared to the Sages  525 points scored, allowing just 83 points.

 

The Sages powering defense will be without linebacker Cole Reedy due to a torn ACL but Nic Tackles who filled in recorded 18 tackles against Anna-Jonesboro. The Sages effective defense will look to hold the Comets under in their matchup Saturday, November 10 at 2 pm.
