Monticello's journey has shown great success, and they continue to make it going to the 3A semifinals. The Sages have made the semifinals twice but never to a state championship. 

The biggest challenge standing in the way of getting to Memorial Stadium is this Saturday kicking off at 2 pm against #2 Carlinville. Carlinville who has also had a great run through the playoffs is tied with Monticello in a record of 12-0. 

The two teams are very similar being tough on both sides of the ball. Carlinville in their season has put up 579 points in all their games just nine points under Monticello. On the defensive side, Monticello has allowed only 104 points just six less than Carlinville.
