The Illinois State Redbirds lost in the series finale to Central Michigan 11-2 on Sunday afternoon at Duffy Bass Field.
The Chippewas scored seven runs in the third inning, including a grand slam, to go ahead early in the game, as they would hang on to win.
Jordan Libman led the Redbirds offense, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Joe Butler and Tyson Hays went 0-for-3 with RBIs.
The Redbirds used six pitchers in the defeat. Starter Matt Walker took the loss, lasting just 2 1/3 innings, allowing seven runs, six earned, on five with, a walk and struck out two.
The Redbirds are 12-6 on the year after winning the both Saturday games 7-2 and 5-4. The scheduled game for Friday was canceled.
Illinois State will take on the UIC Flames on Tuesday at Duffy Bass Field. First pitch for the game is slated for 5 p.m.
