Lincoln Rallies to Win Over Monticello

Nate Arnold threw 4 ? innings of shutout ball as Lincoln rallied past Monticello 11-3 in non-conference boys baseball action Tuesday afternoon at Lincoln High School.

Arnold relieved Justin Long with two on and one out in the third inning and did not allow either runner the score. He allowed only two base runners the rest of the game, both on walks. He struck out seven.

The Sages jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the second inning. Owen Trybom walked in a run and Asher Bradd hit a sac-fly RBI but Lincoln scored the next ten runs unanswered thanks to a plethora of Monticello mistakes in the field and Arnold shut down the Monticello offense.

Drew Singleton reached base three times, stole a base, and drove in a run to lead the Railers. Colton Holiday drove in a run and scored twice, Brendan Eigenbrod hit a two-run double in the sixth inning. Long drove in two on a single in the fifth inning for Lincoln.

Andrew Ellison finished 2-for-3 for Monticello.

The Sages drop to 4-2 while Lincoln improves to 2-1.
