ON 1/23/17 CLINTON POLICE INVESTIGATED A PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENT IN THE 1300 BLOCK E. WASHINGTON. A VEHICLE DRIVEN BY ROBERT W. SMITH 31, CLINTON HAD BACKED OUT OF A DRIVEWAY AND WAS PREPARING TO DRIVE WESTBOUND ON WASHINGTON. A VEHICLE DRIVEN BY MATTHEW R. RAINES 33, CLINTON WAS WESTBOUND ON WASHINGTON AND COULD NOT STOP IN TIME AND COLLIDED WITH SMITH. RAINES THEN LEFT THE SCENE. RAINES WAS LOCATED AND ISSUED CITATIONS FOR FAILURE TO REDUCE SPEED TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT, LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT AND DRIVING WHILE LICENSE REVOKED. RAINES WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE DEWITT COUNTY JAIL AND RELEASED TO CORRECTIONS.

DAVENPORT 18, CLINTON FOR POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, ILLEGAL CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL BY A MINOR, UNLAWFUL USE OF WEAPONS, AND ILLEGAL POSSESION OF ALCOHOL BY A MINOR, KATELYN LOCKARD 23, CLINTON FOR ILLEGAL TRANSPORTATION OF ALCOHOL, AND DENNIS L. EVELAND 24, DECATUR FOR ILLEGAL TRANSPORTATION OF ALCOHOL. SCHULTZ AND DAVENPORT WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE DEWITT COUNTY JAIL AND RELEASED TO CORRECTIONS, LOCKARD AND EVELAND WERE ISSUED CITATIONS.
