Investigation into the scene of an accident occurring 10/3/17 revealed that Sarah Taylor, 81 of Weldon was traveling eastbound on IL Route 10, east of Weldon Springs. Robert Lowers, 73 of Clinton, was also traveling eastbound on IL Route 10, east of Weldon Springs. Lowers slowed and stopped, activated his turn signal, attempting to turn in to his residence. Taylor hit Lowers from behind. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Taylor was issued a citation for Failure to Reduce Speed/Accident.
Jackie Ward 42, Farmer City was issued a citation for Operating Uninsured vehicle. Ward was given a Notice to Appear and was released.
David Harjung, 50, Forsyth was issued a citation for Speeding (66 mph in a 45 mph zone). Harjung was issued a Notice to Appear and was released.
