CIO: Catch of the Week

Archers Alley "Catch of the Week" For Episode 48 - 12/11 & 12/12/21

This week's Archers Alley "Catch of the Week" comes to us from Anthony Fringer, of Blue Mound!!

From Anthony: "Long story short. Been at it for about 12 years. This is my first big buck. Main target has always been meat for the freezer. Coming off a 3 year slump, no deer, turkeys, doves ect. My son is the age where I've been trying to get him more involved. A 3 year dry spell is frustrating but the worst was him seeing dad fail over and over and loose his interest. After little to no time in the woods this season i took Thursday the 18th off for one good crack at it before 1st shotgun season shook things up. After watching this big boy chase does all morning at a distance he came in at 45 yrds and laid down to bed. After a 2.5 hour nap and me bitting my nails the whole time, he was up again. The doe he was with moved away as i was afraid he would do also. He hung back feeding as she circled around. When he moved he cut straight across and gave me a 10 yrd shot. It al l seems like a blur as he was gone the same day to the processor/taxidermist. Looking at the photos is the proof, until the mount comes back, i almost dont believe it happened. I took my son out to track him. After we found him, my sons interest and faith in dad is restored. It has been. My best season by far!"

Anthony will join us this weekend to tell the story!
