This week's Archers Alley "Catch of the Week" comes to us from Rick Noble, of Farmer City!

Rick nearly lost his life chasing this buck, but perserverance, redemption, and perhaps divine intervention played a part in this amazing story....

From Rick: "So last year (2019) on Veteran’s day I took a 25’ fall out of a tree that pretty much ended my hunting season and lucky not my life. I fell putting up a stand trying to get an edge on a big deer my Granddaughter Paisley and I had seen on trail cameras.  While putting up the stand it collapsed. I had all my safety harnesses on but they were booked yes and I hit the ground. I managed to crawl 100 yards to my truck and called my daughter for help. Ended up in the hospital with cracked ribs and a collapsed lung. It could have been so worse. Well this year, one year to the day on Veteran’s day I once again pretty much ended my deer season but I won this time, and from the ground. I have watched him for 3 years, got many trail cam pics and last night was special. One year to the day. I had said all season i would like to kill a big one on my B Day (Nov 9) or the one year anniversary to my fall. He came in with a doe at 65 yards and the rest is history. Thank you to Carter Riecks for helping me find him and some sweet photographs. Now to relax and enjoy the time I want to go out with Paisley and Hank. Every hunt is special but none more then with these two. Paisley said it is her turn now. And that she did. She killed her first deer this year.  I am so proud of her!!!  I could not end this without thanking my beautiful wife Connie Noble. She gets woke up early, puts up with muddy boots and hunting mess pretty much all year and the 2 hours we were waiting and looking she is as stressed and I am (but because if I loose one I am an ass for a few days, maybe weeks) but I think she understands this is a lot of who I am. So thank you I love you very much!!!
