A group of motivated friends of Mclean County youth livestock programs, 4-H and the McLean County Fair started a new premium sale to benefit youth livestock participants in 2015. Last year’s effort resulted in the distribution of nearly $70,000 to 143 youth livestock program participants bringing our program total to nearly $220,000 in just 4 years. We are truly grateful and humbled by the support this program has received from the community. This effort is designed to reward local youth who participate in high commitment agricultural livestock projects. Youth participants in high commitment livestock projects have a tremendous opportunity to learn and grow in their understanding of many disciplines and their appreciation of agriculture.
This is the 4rd year that MY AG (McLean County Youth Animal Agriculture Group) has awarded scholarships to participating youth. This year the scholarships will be awarded in honor of the following individuals and their families: Eldon Bayles, Ron Hofbauer, Paul Zimmerman, Jerry Hoffman. These individuals and their families are being honored due to their tireless efforts to positively impact young people with a passion for livestock. So many lives have been both enriched and cultivated by their efforts.
MY AG is hosting the 2019 premium livestock sale on Saturday, August 3, 2019. The buyer’s luncheon will start at 11:30 am with the sale scheduled for 12:30 pm. Please come join us and help make this our best event yet!
