HS Baseball: Maroa-Forsyth Rolls Prairie Central

Maroa-Forsyth pulled away late and beat Prairie Central 13-2 in a six inning, run-rule win Saturday morning in non-conference high school baseball in Fairbury.

 

The Trojans scored five runs in the fifth inning and two runs in the sixth put the Trojans up ten to win by the ten-run rule. 

 

Andy Munjoy and Zayn Giles went deep for Maroa-Forsyth. Munjoy had a big day at the plate finishing 2-for-4 with four RBIs, two runs scored and a pair of walks.

 

Giles finished 3-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs scored while Tate Brandenburg was 2-for-5 with a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Kaiden Maurer, Mitch W2illiams, Connor Kelly, and Ian Reid recorded RBIs for Maroa-Forsyth.

 

Williams and Ace Giles doubled. 

 

Williams and Cayden Rose each fired three innings in the win. Rose allowed an unearned run with two strikeouts and three hits. Williams allowed a run, a hit, a walk and struck out one.

 

Maroa-Forsyth wraps up postseason play 21-4 overall. It's off to the Bloomington Central Catholic Regional this week for the Trojans.
