Rebecca A. Thompson, 55, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011 peacefully at her home. Graveside services to celebrate Rebecca's life will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2011 at Harristown Cemetery with the "Flight Home" Ceremony to conclude the service. Visitation will be from 10-10:30 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2011 at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Rebecca was born July 26, 1956 in Decatur, the daughter of William and Betty Marsland. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She enjoyed bird watching, wildlife, and spending time with her grandchildren. She married Thomas Thompson Jr. June 6, 1986. She leaves behind her husband Tom Jr., sons, Tom III and fiancé Jessica of Decatur and Dylan and girlfriend Cortney of Decatur, brother, Billy Marsland of Decatur, sisters, Cristine Schollebruch and husband Ted and Loretta Mae Boston-Marsland and husband Steve, grandchildren, Aidin and Ava, stepfather, Jim Boyd, and several nieces and nephews. She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, brother, Bobby Marsland, and best friend, Melody Miller. The family of Rebecca A. Thompson is being served by the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, 2801 N.
