Ruth A. Hafley, 79, Heyworth, passed away at 8:08 p.m. Monday (March 11, 2013) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

A graveside service for Mrs. Hafley will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at McLean Cemetery, with the Revs. Spencer McPheron, Richard Grey and George A. Hafley officiating. No visitation is scheduled. Quiram Peasley Funeral Home, Atlanta, is in charge of arrangements.

Ruth Ann Coon was born Nov. 14, 1933, in Tribby, Okla., the daughter of Arnold and Ann Derryberry Coon. She married James Hafley on Nov. 18, 1951. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children, Wayne A. Hafley, George A. Hafley, Sylvia M. Kindelberger, John W. Hafley, Rose M. Van Dyke, Docia M. Schrepfer, Marilyn G. Schrepfer and Carolyn J. Hafley; one sister, Darlene Driskill; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Gary Coon and David Coon.

Ruth was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, Heyworth. She worked for the State of Oklahoma for 20 years.

Memorials may be made to the Heyworth Fire and Rescue Department or her church.

Ruth will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
