William ‘Bill’ Dean Edgecombe 79, of Argenta, went to be with the Lord on December 28, 2016 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at the Calvert Funeral Home, Argenta. Burial will follow at Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, January 2, 2017, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to the Argenta-Oreana Fire Protection District.
Survivors include his wife, Tamara Kay (Walker) Edgecombe, Argenta; brother Gary (wife, JoEllen) Edgecombe of Oakley, brother Jay (wife, Vicki) Edgecombe of Oreana; son Roger (wife, Janet) Edgecombe of Oreana, daughter Tammy (husband, Mark) Pool of Clinton, daughter Lorie (husband, Rich) Brunner of White Heath; six grandchildren Alicia (husband, Brad) Mullen, Tiffany Goetz, Levi (wife, Crystal) Edgecombe, Matthew (wife, Ashely) Grammer, Tanda (husband, Blake) Holt, Heath Pool; ten great-grandchildren Kayle & Mahala Mullen, Meele & Deacon B. Goetz, Chloe Adams & Avery Smith & Maddox Edgecombe, Machenzie & Chase Grammer, Farrah Holt.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, David Brian Edgecombe.
Bill Edgecombe was a livestock and grain farmer in Argenta all his life. Bill held the position of Pioneer Seed Sales Representative for over 40 yrs. He was the founding leader of A/O Producers 4-H club, Macon County Fair Swine Superintendent, served on the Argenta-Oreana School Board of Education, member of the Boots & Bows Square Dance Club, and a member of the Oreana Baptist Church where he was a Deacon.
Bill loved his wife of fifty-nine years, faith, family, and farming.
