Isabelle “Izzy” Clark Ober, 98, of Paxton, Illinois, formerly of Mansfield, Illinois, passed away at 10:09 A.M. Monday, May 6, 2019, at the Accolade Healthcare of Paxton on Pells, Paxton, Illinois.


Her graveside service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Blue Ridge Township Mansfield Cemetery, Mansfield, Illinois, with Chaplain Glenn Corbly officiating. Military Rites will be accorded. There will be no visitation. 


Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Mansfield, Illinois, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Isabelle was born June 8, 1920, in Mansfield, Illinois, a daughter of Horace E. and Frances Adelaide Ross Clark. She married Lawrence Edward Ober on September 7, 1946, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Urbana, Illinois. He passed away December 15, 1957.


She is survived by her children, Stephen (Linda) Ober of Cobden, Illinois; Michael (Brenda) Ober of Brentwood, California; Sandra (Joseph) Frantonius of Newburgh, Indiana; four Grandchildren, Erik, Krissy, Danielle, and John.


She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Ross Clark, and sister, Joy Spinazzola.


Isabelle graduated from Mansfield High School. She graduated from Blackburn College, Carlinville, Illinois, with an Associate’s Degree and attended the University of Illinois for one year.


Isabelle was a United States Marine Corps Veteran of WWII.


Isabelle worked for the Champaign County Sherriff’s Office for 25 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Rantoul, Illinois.
