Monticello's Cully Welter Inducted into Mahomet-Seymouor High School Hall of Fame

On Friday night, Monticello High School's Cully Welter was inducted into the Mahomet-Seymour High School Hall of Fame.

The multi-sate champion and hall of fame football coach was able to attend the ceremony Friday and thanked Mahomet-Seymour for the honor but also the administration at Monticello High School for adjusting Friday night's kick-off so he could be there.

Friday night's Homecoming game against Pontiac was moved to a 7:30 pm kickoff. Welter won three state titles at Aledo with two runner-ups before winning another state title with Monticello in 2018.

Between three stints at Ridgeview, Aledo and Monticello, Welter's teams have qualified for the postseason every season except his first year at Ridgeview and the COVID season of 2020-21.
