HS Girl's Track: Clinton Wraps Up 2023 Track and Field Season

The Clinton High School girl's track and field season culminated in at state a few week's ago with an All-State performance from Alayna Earle.

Clinton girl's track co-head coach Rachel Lyons indicates they also had a successful indoor season in addition to two school records broken during the indoor season. Additionally, the Lady Maroons surprised at the conference meet this spring.

Coach Lyons and co-head coach Leanne Sosamon knew they had a good thrower in Earle but they say felt they had a good distance program after a strong cross-country campaign in the fall. The coaches also credit the depth of their program and the support those not competing at meets showed to their teammates.

Coach Lyons also credits the seniors this year that really was put through the wringer in their four years at Clinton High School and with track. They credit them for staying with their craft through the ups and downs.

Now Coach Lyons and Coach Sosamon turn their attention to the fall cross country season and are very excited about what is to come with those teams as they return a lot of experience from the last few years.
