AirTran Airways has announced it will end operations at Central Illinois Regional Airport in Bloomington in June.
The company announced the change Friday. AirTran is owned by Southwest Airlines Co.
AirTran employees also learned the carrier will pull out of Knoxville's McGhee Tyson Airport, Miami International, Charleston's Yeager Airport in West Virginia and Dulles International.
The airline said in a statement it can no longer support service to the five markets because of the challenging economic environment and sustained high fuel prices.
AirTran says passengers with reservations or hoping to make reservations before June 3 don't need to alter their plans.
