A lot has happened at the Dr. John Warner Hospital in the past year.
Just a few weeks ago, CEO Paul Skowron was approved as the hospital's long term leader and according to DJWH Board President Aaron Kammeyer, Skowron is jumping right in with some of the ideas he has for the facility. Kammeyer notes, those ideas start with a rebranding of their former Rural Health Clinic.

Allen Wayne Thomas, 54, of Clinton, passed away at 9:03 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 23, 2015) in Lincoln from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with J. Kent Hickerson officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wapella. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Arlie Allen Alexander, 69, of Monticello, passed away peacefully after a long fought cancer battle on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Piatt County Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on February 8, 1946 in Bloomington, the son of Leslie and Juanita (Beard) Alexander. He married Sally Barr on August 13, 1972 in Rocky Mount, NC. She survives.

Mabel E. Whitehouse, 91, of Monticello, passed away at 8:15 a.m., August 22, 2015 at the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello.
Mabel was born on February 23, 1924 in Wentworth, MO the daughter of Andrew and Lydia (Ford) Carver. She married Robert Wayne Whitehouse on April 3, 1946 in Columbus, KS. He passed away March 4, 1985.

Lulu Mae Rhoades, 91, of Monticello, passed away at 2:55 a.m., Friday, August 21, 2015 at Carle Hospital, Urbana.
Lulu was born on March 19, 1924 in Galesville, IL the daughter of Thomas Hiram and Mary Catherine (Hosler) Hayes. She married Donald M. Rhoades on July 13, 1941 in St. Charles, MO. He passed away on March 2, 1997.
