An investigation is underway at an Illinois nursing home after a female resident allegedly died from a shot of methadone. A person familiar with the case says the staff was authorized to administer medication but methadone was never approved. Nursing home officials won't say where the heavy-duty painkiller came from. Illinois State Police are investigating and officials with the Illinois Public Health Department say they're aware of the situation. Calls to the nursing home were forwarded to attorney Matt Murer, who refused to comment on the case and directed all questions to the ISP.
