State Gets Grade Of C For Education Policy

The state of Illinois earns a grade of "C" for education policy and performance.  "Education Week" surveyed categories for all 50 states, with Illinois finishing at 76-point-three-percent.  That's just below the national average of 76-point-five-percent.  Illinois fared well in the Chance for Success category with a "B-minus," while it received a grade of "D-plus" in the Teaching Profession category.  The top-performing state overall was Maryland, while South Dakota finished last.
