Illini Back in Top 25; Paul Big Ten Player of the Week

(Champaign, IL)  --  Illinois is back in the top-25.  The Illini are ranked 25th in this week's ESPN/"USA Today" poll after upsetting Ohio State 79-74 last Tuesday.  It was the only game of the week for Illinois, which is 15-and-3 overall and 4-and-1 in the Big Ten.  The Illini play at Penn State Thursday.

(Undated)  --  Illinois junior guard Brandon Paul has been named the Big Ten Player of the Week.  Paul netted a career-high 43 points in Illinois' upset win over then-fifth-ranked Ohio State last week.  It was the most points by a Big Ten player since 1994.  He was 11-of-15 from the field, including 8-of-10 from three-point range in the win.  Paul also had eight rebounds and four blocks.  This is Paul's first Big Ten Player of the Week award and Illinois' third this season.
