>> Trial For Ex-Bear WR Hurd Delayed To August

A federal judge has delayed the drug conspiracy trial for former NFL wide receiver Sam Hurd until August.

U.S. District Judge Jorge Solis granted the delay until Aug. 6 at the request of Hurd's co-defendant, Toby Lujan. Trial had been set for April 2.

Hurd is a former Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys player. He and Lujan are accused of trying to buy large quantities of marijuana and cocaine to launch a drug-distribution network. The 26-year-old Hurd was arrested Dec. 14 outside a Chicago-area steakhouse, and he was cut shortly afterward by the Bears.

Hurd and Lujan have pleaded not guilty.

>>Bears' Thomas Arrested For Marijuana

(Morgantown, WV)  --  Chicago Bears linebacker J.T. Thomas is facing a misdemeanor drug charge after he was arrested Monday morning for possession of marijuana.  Thomas was pulled over by police after driving the wrong way down a one-way street and marijuana was found in his car.  The 23-year-old was a rookie for the Bears in 2011 and spent the season on injured reserve.  He was a three-year starter at West Virginia.

>>Wife Of Ex-Bear Tommie Harris Dies

(Chicago, IL)  --  The wife of former Chicago Bears tackle Tommie Harris has died.  Ashley Harris passed away in Oklahoma over the weekend after getting sick with an unknown illness.  Tommie Harris was with the Bears from 2004 until 2011 where he went to the Pro Bowl three times.  He played with San Diego Chargers last year, recording three sacks in 13 games.
