Josh Merrick went the distance on the mound, allowing just two hits and striking out 10 as the Maroons topped the Meridian Hawks 2-1 Wednesday afternoon. Merrick walked seven but only allowed one run, as each team combined for just three hits. Colton Reeves was 1-3 with an RBI. The lone two hits and RBI both came courtesy of Elijah Riggen for Meridian.

The Maroons improve to 10-8 on the season and even their Okaw Valley Conference record at 2-2.
