Cubs, Cards, Sox Lose

>>Marlins Complete Sweep Of Cubs

(Miami, FL)  --  Greg Dobbs' two-run double keyed a three-run third inning and the Marlins held on to beat the Cubs, 5-3.  Dobbs' hit gave Miami a 4-3 lead and starting pitcher Ricky Nolasco added an RBI single.  Logan Morrison went 2-for-3 with an RBI as the Fish swept the three-game set at Marlins Park.  Nolaso pitched five-and-a-third innings of three-run ball for the win.  Heath Bell fanned two in the ninth for his second save.  Jeff Samardzija gave up all five runs in less than four frames to take the loss.  Darwin Barney tripled in three runs for Chicago, which has dropped five straight.

(St. Louis, MO)  --  Brandon Phillips, Ryan Ludwick and Drew Stubbs all homered to power the Reds to a 6-3 win over the Cardinals.  Bronson Arroyo and Sean Marshall combined on a six-hitter as Cincinnati salvaged the finale of the three-game set at Busch Stadium.  Arroyo allowed five hits and three runs in eight frames for his first win.  Marshall gave up one hit, but fanned the side in the ninth for his second save.  Adam Wainwright allowed four runs in five innings to drop to 0-and-3 on the season for St. Louis.  Matt Holliday hit a three-run homer in the sixth to supply the Cardinals' offense.

(Chicago, IL)  --  Adam Jones hit a two-run homer and drove in three as the Orioles downed the White Sox 5-3 in the finale of a four-game series.  Jason Hammel tied a career-high with 10 strikeouts and gave up just two runs over six innings to pick up the win.  Jim Johnson struck out Alex Rios with two down and the bases loaded in the ninth for his sixth save.  Rios, Adam Dunn and Alexei Ramirez each knocked in a run for the White Sox, who struck out 16 times and have dropped four of their last five games.  Gavin Floyd was saddled with the loss, allowing five runs through six innings of duty.
