County by county March unemployment figures were released Thursday.
DeWitt County saw it's unemployment figures drop by a whole percentage point from 9.1% to 8.1%.
Piatt County's unemployment dropped by a percent and-a-half from 9.6% to 8.1%.
McLean County recorded one of the area's lowest unemployment rates in March at 6.7%, that is down almost a whole percentage from February.
Woodford County recorded central Illinois' lowest rate at 6.6%.
Macon County continues to to see a double-digit unemployment rate at 10.1%,though it is down from 10.9% from February.
Logan County was just under 8-percent at 7.9, down from 9.1% in February.
Champaign County went from 8.4% unemployment in February to 7.5% in March.
A little farther south, Moultrie County saw their unemployment drop a whole percent, taking them to 6.9%.
The highest unemployment rate in Illinois was in Calhoun County, where they registered 11.9%. However, they saw the largest drop in unemployment from February to March at 3.4%.
The lowest unemployment rate is in Brown County, where they dropped to under 5-percent at 4.6% unemployed.
Good news for Illinois in the month of March, there were no gains in any County in the state. The state's unemployment rate for March was 9% and the national average is 8.4%.
