MLB: Cards Club Cubs; Sox Romp Rangers; Greinke Traded

(Chicago, IL)  --  Matt Carpenter's solo homer snapped a 6-all tie in the fourth inning as the Cardinals outslugged the Cubs, 9-6.  Matt Holliday, Yadier Molina, Lance Berkman and Allen Craig also homered for St. Louis, which won its fourth in-a-row.  Despite allowing six runs in five innings, starter Lance Lynn moved to 13-and-4 with the win.  Jason Motte posted his 23rd save.  Anthony Rizzo went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI for Chicago.  Travis Wood started and lost for the Cubs.

>>Cubs' Garza Out Until After Trade Deadline

(Chicago, IL)  --  Chicago Cubs pitcher Matt Garza is being shut down until after next week's trade deadline.  The right-hander is suffering from cramping in his triceps, with an MRI revealing slight fluid buildup in the area.  Garza has been the subject of trade speculation, with the non-waiver trade deadline at 4 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday.  The 28-year-old is 5-and-7 with a 3.91 ERA this season.

>>Brewers Trade Greinke To Angels

(Undated)  --  Starting pitcher Zack Greinke [[ GRAIN-kee ]] is joining the Los Angeles Angels.  The Milwaukee Brewers traded the former AL Cy Young Award winner to the Halos on Friday for shortstop Jean Segura and minor league pitchers Ariel Pena and Johnny Hellweg.  All three are considered top-10 prospects in L.A.'s farm system.  Brewers General Manager Doug Melvin told "USA Today" on Thursday they would trade Greinke.  The 28-year-old is 9-and-3 with a 3.44 ERA this season.

(Arlington, TX)  --  Kevin Youkilis and Alexei Ramirez each lifted a two-run home run to help the White Sox sink the Rangers, 9-5.  Alex Rios added three runs batted in for Chicago, which has won four straight.  Chris Sale improved to 12-and-3 after giving up five runs in six-and-a-third frames.  Yu Darvish gave up six total runs in six-and-a-third innings for the loss.  Nelson Cruz belted a three-run homer for Texas, which has alternated wins and losses the last six games.
