Investigation into the scene of an accident which occurred at approximately 4:53 p.m. on Friday, October 12, revealed that a vehicle driven by John Warner, 58, Melvin Village, NH, was southbound out of Kenney on Kenney Road. Warner stopped at the stop sign, preparing to continue south across the intersection with Illinois 54. When Warner pulled into the intersection, Kaycie Neuhaus, 26, Mount Pulaski, was eastbound on Illinois 54 and struck Warner’s vehicle. Neuhaus, in an attempt to swerve to miss Warner’s vehicle went into a deep ditch on the southeast corner of the intersection. Both vehicles had front end damage. Neuhaus was transported by ambulance to Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, IL. Warner was released from the scene with no obvious or claimed injury. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Shalee Bayne, 21, Taylorville, was arrested on a DeWitt County Warrant charging her with Driving Under Influence. She posted the necessary bond and was released.
ALL SUSPECTS ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL FOUND GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW.
