Chicago Bears star cornerback Charles Tillman might miss Sunday's game against the Houston Texans because of the birth of his daughter.

Tillman tells Chicago radio station WSCR-AM that he might not be available because his wife, Jackie, is due to give birth to a girl. She will be the couple's fourth child. Their daughter, Tiana, needed a heart transplant after she was born in 2008.

Tillman says if the baby is born Sunday, "I think I'm going to have to be at the hospital."

Tillman is making a case for defensive player of the year, and he forced four fumbles last Sunday at Tennessee. His teammates on the NFC North leaders expressed their support for him before practice on Wednesday. Tillman was not available for comment.

>>Cutler Says Done Expect Offense To Match D

The idea that the Chicago Bears' offense will match their jaw-dropping defense this season just might be a little far-fetched.

Jay Cutler says it's "not going to happen." The quarterback says the offense is "eight, nine years behind those guys" because the Bears have been running the same defense "a long time."

For all the hype coming into the season, the offense remains a work in progress. That hasn't stopped the Bears (7-1, No. 3 In AP Pro32) from grabbing the NFC North lead heading into Sunday's showdown with AFC South leader Houston.

It just hasn't happened quite the way they envisioned.

While the defense continues to dominate, an offense that many thought had the potential to be explosive isn't quite living up to the hype.

>>Bears' Urlacher Wins NFC Weekly Award

(New York, NY) -- Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week Nine, while teammate Sherrick McManis earned Special Teams honors. Urlacher racked up seven tackles, a forced fumble and a 46-yard interception return for a touchdown in last Sunday's 51-20 rout of Tennessee. McManis had two tackles and a blocked punt that was returned for a score.
