A Clinton veteran will have the distinct honor of taking a trip out to Washington DC this weekend as a part of Veterans Day.
Darvin Volker, a local veteran, will be flying out to Washington DC this weekend as a part of the Central Illinois Honor Flight. November 10th and 11th, 70 World War II veterans will be flown out to Washington DC. Volker says this is a great honor for him to be a part of.

Normally the honor flight is a 24-hour trip, but this year the veterans on the trip will stay overnight and will fly back Sunday to a Welcome Home Celebration for the veterans. Volker is a Marine Veteran flying out with a fellow Marine Veteran and is really looking forward to this trip.
