State's Attorney-Elect, Karl Koritz, Anxious To Take Over

 width=An unopposed candidate on the Tuesday ballot is looking forward to get going December 1.

State's Attorney-elect Karle Koritz will take over the office currently held by his father. Dick Koritz. The two rarely talk business away from the office, and Karle says there might a few things he does differently from his father as far as running the office. He does feel it is something special to be taking over for him.

Koritz comes to DeWitt County from McLean County, where he works in the State's Attorney's office as a prosecutor. Koritz explains the problems he sees in McLean County are scaled down quite a bit in DeWitt County, but there are a few things he wants to focus on in his tenure. He calls those things the 'three D's', domestic violence, DUI's, and drugs.

Koritz is a Clinton native and he says prosecuting and working for the people he grew with in the community he grew up in is going to make his work that much more rewarding. He hopes to make the community a better place through his work.

Koritz thanks the voters of the County. He says it is not lost on him that he had to ask for the job and he will have to do so again in four years. He hopes in the next four years, he can represent the county well and gain the voters trust and confidence.
