Clark leads Western Illinois past Buffalo 67-58

Ceola Clark scored 19 points, Don McAvoy added nine points and a career-high 11 rebounds, and Western Illinois beat Buffalo 67-58 on Friday night at the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic.

Terell Parks chipped in 12 points and Adam Link had 10 for the Leathernecks (2-1). Parks' three blocked shots moved him into fifth place all-time at Western Illinois.

Will Regan and Javon McCrea had 13 points apiece for the Bulls (1-2), and Jared Oldham scored 11.

The back & forth game featured six ties and 13 lead changes before Western Illinois took the lead for good shortly after halftime. A 13-3 run, capped by two McAvoy free throws, put the Leathernecks ahead 50-40, and WIU would later lead by as many as 13.

Western Illinois shot 46% from the field, while Buffalo made 39% of its shots.
