Unemployment in several Illinois County went down in October. Local unemployment figures were released Wednesday afternoon.
DeWitt County saw unemployment drop , down to 7.5% 7.6%.
Piatt County has one of the areas lowest unemployment numbers going from 6.9% to 6.6%.
Macon County's unemployment also dropped over a percent from August to September, but still remains above 10-percent, from 10.2% to 10.1%.
Logan County saw unemployment go from 7.8% to 7.7%.
Unemployment in McLean County dropped, going from 6.7% to 6.6%.
In Champaign County, unemployment also went down to 7.7%.
Unemployment in Sangamon County went from 7.3% to 7.1%.
Unemployment in Christian County went from 9.3% to 9.0%.
Shelby County's unemployment dropped ,going from 8.6% to 8.4%
Livingston County had unemployment drop from 7.7% to 7.3%.
Adams County had the areas' lowest unemployment at 5.9%.
The biggest change in unemployment occurred in Putnam County, where unemployment rose over a percentage point, going from 8.9% to 10.0%.
The highest unemployment rate was at 11.6% in Alexander County.
Brown County once again had the state's lowest unemployment rate at 4.5%.
Overall, Illinois unemployment went up in October from 8.1% to 8.4%.
The United States, overall, saw unemployment go down from 7.6% to 7.5%
