State Police Say Ground Search Planned In Dwight Shootings

Authorities are planning a ground search connected to shootings in central Illinois that left a Dwight mother and daughter dead.

According to reports, about 100 law enforcement and fire personnel are expected to search a 26-acre site near Sheridan on Sunday.

Illinois State Police spokeswoman Monique Bond says the purpose is to locate evidence that may help in investigations of the homicides and recent Grundy County burglaries.

The search is expected to last about five hours.

Sixty-year-old Donna Denker and 30-year-old Kelli Denker were killed June 14. Police haven't made any arrests, though authorities say they've recovered a gun used in the shootings.
