Clinton City Council Approves Repairs To Mr. Lincoln Square, Exemptions For Apple and Pork Vendors

A quiet and uneventful Clinton City Council meeting Monday night saw relatively minor business taken care of.

Some repairs to the Mr. Lincoln Square stage are required and according to Clinton Mayor Carolyn Peters, the repairs are necessary to the bandstand. She notes the wall where many patrons sit could use some tuck pointing. The cost was capped at just over $20-thousand.

width=When non-for-profit groups in the Clinton Community do various sorts of fundraisers, some of those require special licenses to perform, mainly for raffles and different types of giveaways. Because the Apple and Pork Festival has so many such occurrences, the Clinton City Council Monday night approved exceptions for a handful of businesses and groups for the upcoming Apple and Pork weekend.

Other business from the Monday night meeting...

>>The Mayor announced the hours for this year's trick or treating as Friday, October 31 from 5 pm to 8 pm.

>>The Council approved a purchase of fire prevention materials for the Fire Department at a cost of $1750.

>>An appraisal of 310 North Madison Street was approved through Rob Nord and Associates Inc. at a cost of $1500.
