Hard times fell on Clinton High School and the community a few weeks ago when a 17-year old student passed away.
At the Tuesday night Clinton Board of Education meeting, Clinton High School leaders were commended for the way they handled a very difficult situation after the sudden passing of senior Evan Workman. It was the Board's first meeting since the tragic event took place, and Board Vice-President, John Blythe complimented Clinton High School Principal Jerry Wayne for the way he handled the situation. He says "you could not have made any more right moves".

Since Wayne (picture bottom left) was named Principal at the start of the year, his message has been the students and faculty of the high school are a family. Blythe says that message could not have been any more evident when the news of what had happened began to spread.

The school board and those in attendance recognized a moment of silence before the meeting began.
The visitation for Evan Workman was held at Clinton High School's gymnasium and the scheduled three hour visitation had over a thousand people attend and lasted well past the 8 pm scheduled finish, into the early morning hours.
