Many counties in Illinois saw a decrease in unemploymeny throughout the month of September.
DeWitt County saw unemployment decrease from 6.8% in August to 5.9% in September.
Piatt County dropped over a percentage point, going from 6.7% to 5.3%.
Macon County's unemployment significantly decreased going from 9.4% in August to 7.9% in September .
Logan County saw unemployment go from 7.3% to 6.2%.
Unemployment in McLean County lessened in September going from 6.5% to 5.6%.
In Champaign County, employment also decreased ,down to 6%.
Unemployment in Sangamon County went from 6.5 in August to 5.8% in September.
The highest unemployment rate was tied at 8.9% in Hardin and Franklin Counties.
Brown County once again had the state's lowest unemployment rate at 2.9%.
The state's unemployment dropped, going from 6.7% in August to 6.2%. The national unemployment rate sits at 5.7%.
