WHOW, State Bank of Lincoln Co-Sponsor Fall Commodity Outlook Meeting

WHOW THE BIG 1520 AM and 92-point-3 FM, along with the State Bank of Lincoln, sponsored a Commodity Outlook Meeting Tuesday night at the Richland Community College Clinton Education Center. Several experts reviewed the current status of commodity markets and where pricing was going over the next several months.

WHOW local farm broadcaster Jared White introduced Todd Gleason of WILL-AM 580 in Urbana, whose program "The Closing Market Report" is heard weekday afternoons at 2:06 on WHOW, and whose program called "Commodity Week" is heard Saturday mornings at 8:30.

Gleason was moderator of a panel that included Matt Bennett of Channel Seeds from Windsor; Pete Manhart, owner of Bates Commodities in Normal; and Jacquie Voeks of Stewart Peterson in Champaign. The 4 discussed both corn and soybean markets at length, and emphasized the importance of not making selling decisions on emotion.
