Construction sites across the country are turning pink as part of an initiative started by Indianapolis-based Metro Elevator, with the goal of raising money and awareness for breast cancer research. Company vice president Roger Brummett [[ BRUH-met ]] says workers, contractors and subcontractors pledge money for each time a pink elevator goes up the side of their construction site.

Brummett says the elevator goes up about 120 feet so you can see it from far away.

Brummett says whether a construction elevator is blue, green, yellow or rust it's going to haul workers and gear. Once you turn it pink though it becomes an ambassador for a very worthy cause.
