Governor-elect Bruce Rauner has made his pick to succeed Judy Baar Topinka as Comptroller. He will appoint Leslie Geissler Munger of Lincolnshire to fill the vacancy that will develop January 12th when Quinn Administration Budget Director Jerry Stermer will see his short tenure as Comptroller come to a close. Like Rauner, Munger strongly favors “Judy’s Amendment,” which would merge the Comptroller’s and Treasurer’s offices. Munger says she isn't interested in a political career, only doing what is best for the state.
