State Fair Manager Amy Bliefnick's ten year run at the helm of the August icon is ending after she received word that she was being let go by Governor Bruce Rauner's transition team.

Bliefnick is proud of the role of veterans at the fair as well as the expanded emphasis on the final Sunday evening of the fair. When it comes to what she'll miss the most, it isn't a ferris wheel, a building, an event or even the butter cow.

Du Quoin State Fair manager Shannon Woodworth also was fired earlier this week.In his case, he was let go before his first anniversary as manager.
