Taking On Responsibility Important For Young Adults

This week, you've heard about New Year's Resolutions geared toward younger kids, and today we will focus on good habits for your teenagers to form in 2015.

Unlike school-age kids, teenagers should focus on their social responsibilities such as community service and helping others. According to Dr. Tricia Scerba, a Pediatrician with Dr. John Warner Hospital, service to others can be relatable to driving and even dating etiquette.

The teenage years can be a very stressful time for young people due to peer pressure involving drugs and alcohol. Dr. Scerba says it is ok for you as the parent, to encourage them to get their feelings out in a responsible way.

One of the major outliers for all age groups involves the importance of communication. Dr. Scerba stresses for parents to talk often with your kids and know what's going on in their lives.
